Burial Assistance



The Office of the Vice President provides burial assistance for poor, marginalized, vulnerable, and disadvantaged individuals.

Clients/Authorized representatives may submit the complete and correct documentary requirements through the NCR Central Office and Tondo Extension Office. Only applicants with complete requirements shall be processed.

A. Eligibility


The OVP Burial Assistance aids indigents and the marginalized to help them with the burial costs of deceased family members. Applications must be submitted within 15 calendar days (including weekends and holidays) from the date of death, then the Burial Assistance shall be provided to eligible clients, for a maximum amount of ₱5,000.00.

B. Documentary Requirements

The authorized representative applying for Burial Assistance must submit the following requirements:

1. Original copy of the filled-out Burial Application form, signed by the Authorized Representative.

● Dated and signed within 15 calendar days (including weekends and holidays) from the date of death.
● Applications received beyond the said period shall not be eligible for assistance.

2. Original Copy of the Social Case Study Report or Certificate of Indigency/ Eligibility

Social Case Study Report should be issued by the DSWD, PSWDO, CSWDO, or MSWDO Social Worker and Certificate of Indigency/ Eligibility addressed to the OVP, or generic addressee (e.g., addressed to “your good office”, no addressee)

Alternative: Certificate of Indigency/Eligibility issued by the PSWDO/CSWDO/ MSWDO where the client resides. Must state that the client is in need of burial assistance.

3. Photocopy of Registered Death Certificate

With registry number

4. Photocopy of at least one (1) valid Identification Card of Deceased and Authorized Representative

● Valid as of the date of the interview
● Original must be presented
● Front and back of the card were photocopied

● PhilHealth ID
● Voter’s Certification
● Police Clearance / ID
● 4Ps ID

● PWD ID
● Senior Citizen ID
● Barangay / LGU ID
● Philippine Identification System (National ID)


Alternative ID for the Deceased:

● Registered Birth Certificate
● Fetal Death Certificate
