1,000 trees planted in former MILF camp

At least 1,000 seedlings of Mahogany and Narra trees were planted in Darapanan in Maguindanao.

The area was the former stronghold of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).

The tree-planting event was still part of the PagbaBAGo Campaign of the Office of the Vice President. It hopes to plant one million trees across the Philippines by 2028.

The Darapan tree planting was headed by the OVP Satellite Office in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

The activity was also participated in by officials and employees of the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources and Energy (MENRE) – BARMM, and volunteers from the Palaw Rangers, Forest Rangers, Bangsamoro READi, Bangsamoro Exit Overseas Workers Association (BEOWA), Society of Moro Architects (SOMA), and environmentalists from different provinces.
