Courtesy Call with Dr. Ndiamé Diop

Vice President Sara Duterte warmly received Dr. Ndiamé Diop, the Country Director of Brunei, Malaysia, Philippines, and Thailand, for The World Bank Group, along with his associate.

In the meeting, both parties recognized the significant role of education in shaping the lives and future of the nation.

The two officials also talked about efforts for possible collaboration, including the implementation of the MATATAG Agenda — the expansion of teacher training (Teacher Effectiveness and Competencies Enhancement Project) across various regions and the construction of additional resilient school infrastructure (Infrastructure for Safer and Resilient Schools).

Other topics discussed were the Deped Digital Education 2028 (Deped DigiEd) program.

VP Sara thanked the World Bank Group for supporting the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
