In recognition of gender equality and expression, the Office of the Vice President (OVP), through the Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS), launched the “Kasarilayaan: An OVP Pride Month Celebration.”
The OVP organized various activities, such as Kapehan Sessions #RainbowFridays, Color Your Bay, and the Wall of Pride, aimed at celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community members and enhancing the staff's awareness of their challenges and unique life experiences.
In addition to commemorating Pride Month within the OVP, the celebration also included a gift-giving event in Payatas on June 7 and a Pride Reception held on June 25. In collaboration with LGBT Pilipinas Inc., more than 600 members of the LGBTQIA+ community attended and joined in a unified call for equal rights for all.
The fight for equality does not end here. The OVP stands in solidarity with Pride Month's annual celebration and the ongoing struggle alongside our brothers and sisters from the LGBTQIA+ community.
It is an honor for the Office of the Vice President to celebrate Pride Month and to join the community in advocating for an inclusive and equitable society.
