MANILA – The Office of the Vice President plans to have more beneficiaries for its flagship programs under the 2025 National Expenditure Program (NEP).
Under the proposed OVP budget for next year, the leadership of Vice President Sara Z. Duterte aims to reach some 1.139-million beneficiaries—an increase of 12.39 percent from the current target under the 2024 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
The proposed P2.037-billion OVP budget for 2025 reflects an 8.05-percent increase compared to the current year appropriation.
Of the total P2.037-billion budget of OVP in 2025, 87.98 percent of the total allotment will go to various flagship programs such as the medical and burial assistance; Libreng Sakay Program; Disaster Relief Operations; Mag Negosyo Ta ‘Day; PagbaBAGo Campaign; You Can Be VP, Relief for Individuals in Crisis and Emergencies (R.I.C.E) program; and PanSarap Programs.
In 2023, the OVP reached out to some 977,615 beneficiaries. During the first half of 2024, the OVP has already reached out to some 684,830 beneficiaries—of the total target of 1,013,620 beneficiaries by the end of this year, which is already more than 50 percent of this year's target.
For 2025, the OVP remains committed to delivering efficient, accessible, and responsive public service for the good of all Filipinos, with the utmost dedication, transparency, and integrity.
