PagbaBAGo bags distributed in Negros Oriental

The Office of the Vice President (OVP) distributed PagbaBAGo bags to students in Dauin and San Jose, Negros Oriental, on May 2 and 3.

The initiative is part of the PagbaBAGo: A Million Learners Campaign, aimed at distributing a million backpacks nationwide while emphasizing education's significance.

In Dauin, backpacks were distributed to Baslay, Bulak, Masaplod, and Malongcay Elementary Schools, mainly catering to children of service crews, fishermen, and farmers. In San Jose, the beneficiaries from Alicia C. Calumpang, Cancawas, and San Jose Central Elementary Schools were predominantly under the 4Ps program.

A total of 451 PagbaBAGo bags, which contained school supplies and dental kits, were given to the seven public schools. Local officials, including Dauin Mayor Galicano Truita, Councilor Alvin Truita, and San Jose Mayor Atty. Mel Nick Logronio teamed up with the OVP in responding to the request of Mamamayang Sandigan ng Demokratikong Adhikain (MASADA) Philippines Inc., led by Mr. Leoniv Maputi.

Additionally, the OVP extended its reach to Maria, Siquijor. On May 2, PagbaBAGo bags were distributed to 149 learners from Candaping and Maria Integrated Schools. Most recipients were from impoverished rural families. The activity was done with help from Mayor Roselyn Asok.
