The distribution of PagbaBAGo bags in the MIMAROPA region continues to expand, benefiting Filipino youth through the Office of the Vice President's (OVP) PagbaBAGo: A Million Learners Campaign.
On April 25 and 26, the OVP distributed PagbaBAGo bags in the Municipality of Odiongan, Romblon Province.
A total of 667 learners from Odiongan North Central Elementary School and the Libertad Elementary School were beneficiaries of the program, receiving new backpacks containing school supplies and dental kits.
The beneficiaries included students from disadvantaged families, children of fishermen, and children with special needs.
The teachers of both schools expressed gratitude for being part of the OVP program, noting that they seldom receive projects or programs from national government agencies.
The OVP coordinated with School Principals Renante Lorenzo and Solina Molino, as well as teachers Genil Frances Rose Estaniol and Melanie Nochesa, with the assistance of Pastor Chobelle Ferrer from the Convention of Baptist Churches in the Philippines.
The Department of Education-MIMAROPA Regional Director Nicolas Capulong and Schools Division Superintendent Roger Capa, also helped the OVP in this initiative.
The OVP also thanked the warm reception and support of the Odiongan Local Government Unit led by Mayor Trina Alejandra Firmalo-Fabic and Vice Mayor Diven Dimaala.
