The Office of the Vice President’s PagbaBAGo: A Million Learners Campaign recently reached Palawan, known as the Philippines’ Last Frontier.
This initiative aims to distribute one million backpacks nationwide and emphasize the importance of education for Filipino youth.
On April 17, the OVP distributed 352 PagbaBAGo bags to students of Tagbarungis Elementary School in Barangay Inagawan Sub-Colony, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. Alongside school supplies and dental kits, beneficiaries received assistance facilitated by School Head Zaida R. Manabat, DepEd Puerto Princesa, and the Palawan Provincial Operations Office of the 4Ps program.
On April 18 and 19, a total of 288 indigenous students from the Palaw’an Tribe received PagbaBAGo bags. The beneficiaries were from Calupisan Elementary School (CES) in Punta Baja, and Bayabas Elementary School (BES) in Barangay Bunog, Municipality of Rizal, Palawan. The CES, a multigrade school with only five teachers, and the BES, approximately four kilometers from the national highway, cater predominantly to Palaw’an Tribe students, with a few Muslim attendees.
Aligned with the PagbaBAGo campaign, this initiative seeks to inspire Filipino students to value education and complete their studies.
