VP Duterte visits Mindanao earthquake victims

Vice President Sara Duterte visited victims of the November 17 earthquake, bringing with her President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s deep concern to those affected by the tremor in Mindanao.

The Vice President is the country’s caretaker as the President is on an official trip overseas.

The VP is not new to disaster response, drawing from her experience as former mayor of Davao City. She emphasized the necessity of quick response to the immediate needs of disaster victims.

In Sarangani, VP Sara condoled the families of those who perished in the earthquake and checked on the conditions of the injured at Sarangani Provincial Hospital.

In General Santos City, she expressed sympathies to the families of three fatalities at the Villa Funeral Homes.

The VP also provided financial assistance to affected families.

She noted the heartbreaking impact of the earthquake on humans and properties.

In the face of such tragedies, she reminded the citizens of the importance of disaster preparedness at the household level. She emphasized the need for caution within families, the importance of emergency kits, and the necessity of disaster plans.
