VP Sara attends 23rd Araw ng Panabo

Vice President Sara Duterte attended the celebration of the 23rd Araw ng Panabo held at the Panabo Multi-Purpose, Tourism, Cultural, and Sports Center in Panabo City, Davao del Norte, in March.

She was pleased to hear that the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) Professional School for Agriculture and the Environment would establish a satellite campus within the Agriya Agritourism Development to offer master's degrees in agriculture and environment.

The cultivation of bananas has been the city's lifeblood, with 40 percent of its land providing livelihood, fostering local markets, and entrepreneurs' development.

Panabo City is known as the Banana Capital of the Philippines. It also excels in peace and order, anti-illegal drug campaigns, local governance, and education. Vice President Duterte acknowledged the sacrifices of the city's farmers and their dedication to advancing agriculture, which sustains their livelihood.

She expressed her closeness to Panabo, as the city's progress has been intertwined with that of Davao City for years. She also extended her gratitude for the continued support she receives as Vice President and Secretary of the Department of Education.
