Vice President Duterte met with Republic of Korea Prime Minister Han Duck-soo.
The VP was in South Korea as one of the event speakers at the 2023 Global Education and Innovation Summit (GEIS) as the secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd).
During their conversation, the Prime Minister acknowledged the important role of Filipinos in Korean history.
He highlighted the bravery of the more than 7,420 Filipino soldiers who were sent during the Korean War from 1950 to 1953.
He said, the Republic of Korea also wants to cooperate with the Philippines in dealing with the issue of climate change, development, and the digital divide issue.
The Vice President was also very grateful to Prime Minister Han for his hospitality and for recognizing the hard work and talent of the Filipinos here in South Korea.
