In furtherance of her aspiration to preserve and protect our country's natural resources, VP Sara participated in the release of 152 critically endangered Hawksbill Turtles back to their natural habitat on the coastline of the Aboitiz Cleanergy Park in Punta Dumalag, Davao City.

The Hawksbill Turtle is among the critically endangered species of sea turtles worldwide. It is also among the five species of sea turtles found here in the Philippines.

In the Vice President's media interview, she said that this activity is important to enlighten our youth and communities on how to stand up for the protection of our environment.

The Vice President is very grateful to Davao Light and Power Co., Inc., Aboitiz Foundation, Inc., and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for their efforts in maintaining the ecological preserve and biodiversity of the Philippines.
