VP Sara visits “Last Mile School” in Catanduanes

Vice President Sara Duterte turned over school facilities to the Dororian National High School in Gigmoto, Catanduanes, as part of the Department of Education’s Last Mile Schools Program.

A school is considered a “Last Mile” school if it is geographically isolated or in a disadvantaged or conflict area. “Last Mile” schools are also those that only have four classrooms with no electricity or internet connection. Most “Last Mile” schools have multi-grade classes with less than five teachers.

On Friday, the Vice President led the turnover of four classrooms, furniture, and essential materials.

Duterte also thanked the teachers for their service. She also invited Senator Imee Marcos to discuss legislative matters related to teacher allowances and salaries.
